What to do in Puerto Peñasco during Memorial Day weekend?

Your first mandatory stop should be the Malecón to take a picture next to our emblematic monument to the Fisherman, which you can find in Governor’s plaza. Enjoy the view of the Sea as you eat at one our restaurants where you can find fresh seafood, hamburgers, pizzas made on wood fires, Mexican food, Italian food… A wide variety for all tastes. Don’t forget to buy your souvenir at any of our crafts shops! This weekend our port will be full of fun for everyone, and the weather forecast is looking great! So here we share some of the activities you can do on your visit:

If trying out regional cuisine is what you like, the Puerto Peñasco 638 chefs club Is having their first Brasa Fest this weekend. This festival highlights the Sonoran tradition of Grilling, and it will take place at Peñasco del Sol Hotel on Saturday, May 25th from 5 – 11 pm.

If it’s exploring and enjoying a relaxed day what your after, approach the marina and take your pick from visiting Bird Island and kayaking, snorkeling among sea lions, or just take a cruise around the bay where you can enjoy a front row view of the sunset on the boat of your choosing.

Visiting our city’s bars is a must do this weekend. Most of our bars have special events going on for you this weekend. Manny’s Beach Club is having Mark Mulligan playing with the Forasteros. Coco Rock Is having the best of Latin Rock. Tekila Bar is having their traditional neon party party Fluor. Wrecked at The Reef has a full itinerary you can check out. Elixir Bar has 4 Resident DJS plus special guests, Al Capone’s has ​Brunch with The Band.

You can’t pass up the opportunity to hit the dunes, whether on a rhino, motorcycle, or Rzr. And please don’t forget to wear a helmet and use sunscreen. Spending the afternoon on the beach, riding jet skis or banana boats are other things to add to that checklist.
