A year after the launch of the flight connecting the “Corner of Latin America” to Puerto Peñasco, the route continues to strengthen while bringing in tourists and visitors from Baja California and California.
Calafia Airlines, which picked up the direct route following a 5-year pause in commercial flights to the area, was able to solidify itself by welcoming at least 3000 passengers last year, with an anticipated 5000 for 2023.
The Tijuana-Puerto Peñasco flight continues to operate Fridays and Mondays, with time schedules designed to make sure visitors can easily enjoy a week or weeklong stay for business or pleasure.
The 45-minute flight between Tijuana-Puerto Peñasco offers spectacular panoramic views of the Sea of Cortez and Sonoran Desert. An additional attraction is the route also connects to the cities of Loreto and La Paz, in Baja California Sur, providing for travel to Puerto Peñasco without having to deboard.
