The importance of carrying out the Sonora-Arizona Commission.

The annual Sonora-Arizona Commission meeting brings more than 600 representatives together. The decision-makers are from the state of Sonora and Arizona. They make extensive agreements benefiting both states. The meeting is led by the governor of Sonora, Claudia Pavlovich Arellano, and Arizona governor, Doug Ducey.

This binational project focuses on strengthening areas such as the economy, education, and communications. Considering how close these states are to one another, they’ll address what benefits each state. Agreements and opportunities are a discussion at the summit meeting. As well as the progress between Mexico, the United States and Canada (AMEC) in this border region.

Also the summit meeting purpose is to generate alliances between businessmen and government officials to support the promotion of Puerto Peñasco as the most important turist destination in the State of Sonora.

The committees invited to Son-Az commission are the administration of emergencies, art and culture, legal affairs, finance and business, real estate, sports, economic development, education, and the environment among others.
