Infelices para Siempre wraps up filming in Puerto PeƱasco

Filming for the Mexican romantic comedy ā€œInfelices para Siempreā€ spent nearly a month in Puerto PeƱasco, capturing some of the best images of what the desert and marvelous Sea of Cortez have to offer.

The feature film, starring Consuelo Duval and AdrĆan Uribe, produced by Jorge AragĆ³n and directed by Noe SantillĆ”n, filmed in several locations in and around the city.  Film sets encompassed beautiful spaces at resorts, including Las Palomas Beach & Golf Resort as well as Mayan Palace, as well as the Mar de CortĆ©z Airport, and of course representative spots of the region such as majestic dunes, the Grand Desert of Altar, craters at the Pinacate Biosphere Reserve, and our spectacular beaches.

In the words of producer Jorge AragĆ³n, they were looking for a paradisiacal spot with uncommon natural settings. They finally chose Puerto PeƱasco, Sonora as the spot to tell the story ā€œInfelices para Siempreā€, which also stars Livia Brito, Ari Telch, Angelica AragĆ³n, Luis Arrieta, and Ruy Senderos, among others.

The story follows a couple, worn out after more than 20 years of marriage, whose families send them to Puerto PeƱasco, where they first honeymooned, in an attempt to save their relationship.  Through a series of mishaps and repetitions, much in the style of ā€œGroundhog Dayā€, the two seek out a happy ending.

Cast, production, and film crew spent from July 18th ā€“ August 15th filming in Puerto PeƱasco. This involved transporting over 100 people between technicians, makeup artists, wardrobe, and craft services. The film also several local providers including transportation, props, and services for film sets, plus many extras.

After wrapping up in Puerto PeƱasco, production moved to Hermosillo where they would be filming at the airport before returning to Mexico City for editing and post-production.  The film is expected to be released in movie theaters in 2020.

Filming of this production will undoubtedly put Puerto PeƱasco on the national and international map as a tourism site worth visiting!
