The warm summer season has arrived, and with it a longing for beach walks, the feel of sand between your toes, an escape from routine, and to enjoy the beautiful sunsets along with everything else this little corner of the Sea of Cortez has to offer.
To welcome visitors at area hotels, restaurants, and establishments across Puerto Peñasco, health protocols and measures outlined by the Secretary of Health and World Health Organization remain in effect. This is why this tourism destination continues to be a “Safe Point” to vacation!
This summer, Puerto Peñasco is ready to host visitors who are eager to enjoy the sand, sea, and a wealth of outdoor activities available, including: boat cruises, ATV rentals, ultra-lights, water sports, or a trip to the Pinacate and the sand dunes.
Visitors can also relish in all of the culinary experiences Puerto Peñasco has to offer, venture out to the oyster farms, or take in live music along with countless spots to visit, and things to do!
This summer could be the best time to escape and enjoy the beaches of Puerto Peñasco! The only requirement is to follow provided protocols to ensure the health and safety of our city and of course our guests, you, our visitors!
Puerto Peñasco has been, and continues to be, a safe place to visit! Though approximately 25,000 tourists visited the area over Spring Break, and an additional 30,000 over Semana Santa, this did not result in a significant uptick in the number of locally confirmed Covid-19 cases.
Currently, data from the Sonora Secretary of Health indicates Puerto Peñasco has registered just over 500 cases of Covid since the first reported case here in April of last year. This number represents less than 1% of the total cases recorded across the state.
Still, it’s important to not let down one’s guard and continue to exercise caution to guarantee a fun summer season, while being responsible whenever heading out to visit another city.
Plan ahead, reserve, and get to know Puerto Peñasco, a place that welcomes visitors with open arms, where you are taken care of, and a spot that is betting on responsible tourism.
