Tour operators interested in bringing groups and holding events in our state
Puerto Peñasco, Sonora April 12th, 2018.
The Free Spirit Vacation Company, Puerto Peñasco Visitors and Convention Bureau (OCV Peñasco), and Hotel Peñasco del Sol hosted a fruitful visit for 29 different tourism operators from Arizona, California, Missouri, Pennsylvania, and Oregon, among other states, from April 4 through April 6.
Principal questions addressed during the visit included the border crossing at Sonoyta and Lukeville, the new Safety Corridor between Sonoyta and Puerto Peñasco, the Home Port project, flights in and out of Peñasco, and the variety of activities available for tourists.
During their visit to Puerto Peñasco, the tourism operators enjoyed local cuisine, a spectacular sunset following a boat ride to San Jorge “Bird” Island, and even a trip to the Schuk Toak Visitors Center at the El Pinacate Biosphere Reserve, where the magical and imposing desert impressed them.
Some of the many comments expressed by the tourism operators were:
– “My trip to Puerto Peñasco was fabulous. I am definitely going to start working with this city.”
– “I’ve been coming to Puerto Peñasco for 30 years and have watched the progress and growth it’s shown. I work with groups here and have never had a bad experience. I love it so much down here, I am actually planning on retiring here.”
