(Phoenix, AZ).- The Puerto Peñasco Convention and Visitors Bureau (OCV) once again furthered efforts to promote this wonderful tourist destination, as well as the state of Sonora, by participating in the Annual Fiesta in the Desert gathering of the Arizona chapter of the American Society of Travel Agents (ASTA).
Now in its 15th edition, the ASTA Fiesta in the Desert attracted approximately 400 travel agents, which was notably up over last year.
Travel agents seemed pleased in having Puerto Peñasco’s OCV, along with the State Tourism office COFETUR, present to discuss and show them all the area has to offer. They were similarly impressed with how much Puerto Peñasco has grown in tourism infrastructure, as well as the growing number of visitors per year.
Most questions about Puerto Peñasco from agents at the AZ ASTA were about progress on construction of the homeport, and many of the agents were excited with the idea of being part of the inaugural cruise.
The OCV promoters emphasized the safety and security offered by the Safety Corridor, recently put in motion through joint cooperation between Sonora ,Mexico and Arizona.
The ASTA Fiesta in the Desert is one of the largest travel fairs geared specifically to travel agents. ASTA’s mission is to assist with the business of selling travel through effective representation, shared knowledge, and professional enhancement. It is a magnificent source of providing recent innovations within the Arizona travel industry.
