Sonora Governor Guillermo Padrés Elías is expected to inaugurate the Puerto Peñasco Convention Center during an upcoming visit to the city scheduled for Thursday, May 8th.
“We have been told Governor Padrés may visit once again on May 8th to inaugurate the Convention Center. This will provide conditions to begin a promotional campaign in order to hold events at the center,” expressed Puerto Peñasco Mayor Gerardo Figueroa Zazueta.
Mayor Figueroa added that Tourism Secretary Claudia Ruiz Massieu and PRI Representative Coordinator in the Lower Chamber, Manlio Fabio Beltrones, are also considering working tours to the area in the near future.
The Puerto Peñasco Convention Center has excellent facilities, making it appropriate for conventions, assemblies, and events of high caliber. There are, in fact, a number of existing requests for use of the Center.
“We are very satisfied to have this type of infrastructure here in Puerto Peñasco, which undoubtedly will allow promotion of our municipality as a host site. This was successfully seen during the world championship boxing event in which Juan Francisco “Gallo” Estrada retained his World Titles. The bout was viewed on an international scope,” emphasized the Mayor.
