We’ve got great news for jazz lovers! Puerto Peñasco will be host to the 1st Desert Jazz Festival, to take place November 13th, featuring performances by four jazz groups. Read on for more details!
El Tapeo Wine Bar will be the setting for jazz performances by the Caro Quinteto and HMO Jazz Combo from Hermosillo, as well as Los Vatos Jazz and Levito Swing Trio of Puerto Peñasco. The gala evening will include interpretations of original pieces, jazz fusion, and classic covers to delight all in attendance.
This first Desert Jazz Festival aims mainly to rekindle the jazz culture in Puerto Peñasco, while introducing the genre to those who have yet to appreciate it.
Oscar Acosta, principal event organizer, explained the idea is to promote musical tourism given that Puerto Peñasco welcomes a wide range of tastes. In addition, this creates an event for local residents who enjoy jazz, and above all positions the festival as an international draw to attract new bands in coming years.
