Come to Rocky Point

COVID-19 Announcement

Because it’s time to care for ourselves and take preventive steps, and because we want to see you again in our beautiful port, we ask for your understanding and solidarity at this time by staying at home with your loved ones.

Puerto Peñasco is our treasure and the spot you’ve chosen for years to vacation, which has strengthened us as a tourism destination. Yet today, just as many areas across the globe, Puerto Peñasco needs to be calm so we can once again welcome you with open arms once this health contingency is over, and together celebrate having overcome this pandemic.

It’s time to take necessary steps, which is why, as a responsibly aware tourism destination, we encourage you to take care of yourself by following health instructions both for you and for all of us.

Indications on behalf of the Sonora state Government, as well as the Municipal Government, in response to the present health contingency are as follows:

  • A Health Barrier has been implemented. No one that isn’t a resident or provider of essential services will be allowed into Puerto Peñasco. Entry will be controlled along the Sonoyta, San Luis, and Caborca highways.
  • 24-hour Stay at Home curfew in effect:  People may only leave home for essential services; police agencies will be monitoring movement
  • Closure of establishments that do not offer services or products that are truly necessary
  • Beach access will remain closed to prevent crowds.
  • Schools remain closed.

If your plans included visiting us during the upcoming Semana Santa (Holy Week) or Easter holiday, we ask you contact your hotel in order to change dates so you don’t miss out on the opportunity of visiting in the future and enjoying all that Puerto Peñasco has for you.

It is the responsibility of all of us to protect our city, our port, and our tourists.

When this is over, we’ll be ready to receive you again as you deserve so you can enjoy the peace and calm of our beaches and celebrate life along with your friends and dear ones.

Let’s all do our part!  Stay home!
