Peñasco Palooza 2011| Great Rock Concert in Rocky Point

Posted by

As expected, under a fantastic October sky and with terrific weather, this past Saturday (Oct. 15) we were lucky to enjoy a great rock & roll concert promoted by Home of the Brave Concerts. Peñasco Palooza 2011 featured great musicians such as Steve McCarty (formerly of Steve Miller Band), Curly Smith (Boston, Jo Jo Gunne), David Lewark (Eddie Money, Sammy Hagar), Terry Anderson (formerly of Tower of Power), Paul McDermand (Formerly played with Natalie Cole, The Moody Blues, Esteban), Gary Moon (Formerly of Night Ranger, Three Dog Night, The Pack), Jimmy Crespo (Formerly of Rod Stewart, Aerosmith), and Leon Bisquera (Formerly with Anita Baker, Chaka Khan).

Prior to the main show, the local band Ro.Jo. was in charge of warming up the atmosphere, playing covers of classic rock bands. I have to say that they performed great, having the crowd singing and waiting for the main presentation of Steve McCarty and The Hitmen All-Stars, who immediately got the audience up on their feet to rock for couple of hours, while playing their greatest hits like: (Steve Miller Band) Fly Like an Eagle, The Joker, Take the Money and Run, Swingtown, Rock ‘n Me Baby, Jetairliner, Wild Mountain Honey, (Boston) Amanda, More Than a Feeling, Foreplay, Smokin’, Peace of Mind, Rock ‘n Roll Band, (Aerosmith) Dream On, Walk This Way, Crazy, Fallen Angels, (Sammy Hagar- Van Halen) Love Walks In, and Winner Takes It All.

Energy and enthusiasm were the general feelings around, with the fresh breeze coming from the Sea of Cortes that served as a remarkable scenario for this fantastic event. Congratulations to the sponsors, promoters, fans & Rocky Point for make this event a success!! We are expecting to have them back playing their great songs sometime in early 2012 – can’t wait for it!

The date has been set! March 17, 2012  St. Patricia Spring Palooza!  Don’t miss out!
